Texas - PAV Club Tryouts

2025-26 Tryouts on July 7th and 8th will be held at the Fort Bend EpiCenter located at 28505 Southwest Fwy., Rosenberg, TX 77471. Athletes should bring water and wear volleyball athletic attire. 

Tryout Process Overview

The PAVC tryout process consists of trained coaches evaluating the skills and attitudes of prospective club players. At PAVC, we are not only observing the current skill level of players, but we are also evaluating the potential for player development and growth. During tryouts, we will be observing the following: volleyball skills, attitude, coachability, competitiveness, work ethic, listening skills, and sportsmanship. Once we have completed our evaluation process, we begin to group players on teams with members of similar skill level. We will then contact players and families via phone or email sharing an offer or advising ways for the player to increase their skills set or work on their attitude for future consideration. Our goal is to offer players roles on teams where they can grow as both a person and player. 

Finally, please do not contact PAVC staff members inquiring about roster decisions. We ask that players and parents respect our decisions regarding team rosters. Please know that we always aim to place players on teams where they have the opportunity for the most growth. We also aim to offer feedback to players that do not receive an offer. Unfortunately, we cannot extend a club team offer to every player that attends our tryouts.

Please note: Each player can tryout for her highest desired team placement. This does not guarantee that she will be placed on that level (i.e. Player can tryout for a National/Semi-National level team and be placed on a Coastal level team). We will place each player where she will be best fit and receive maximum amount of of play time.

18 & Under

Players who were born on or after July 1st, 2007 OR are high school students in the twelfth (12th) grade or below during the current academic year and are 19 years of age or younger (born on or after July 1, 2006).

17 & Under

Players who were born on or after July 1, 2008.

16 & Under

Players who were born on or after July 1, 2009.

15 & Under

Players who were born on or after July 1, 2010.

14 & Under

Players who were born on or after July 1, 2011.

13 & Under

Players who were born on or after July 1, 2012.

12 & Under

Players who were born on or after July 1, 2013.

Q: Where are club team practices located?

A: Club practices are held at Sartartia Middle School. 

Q: When are practices? 

A: Texas club team practices have been historically held on most Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm. Days of the week may change if the school has an evening event in the gym. All practice dates and times will be preannounced on the practice schedule. A practice schedule will be shared with club teams in the fall. 

Q: When are tournaments? 

A: Tournaments are held over the weekends. A 1-day tournament is hosted on most Saturdays and some Sundays. A 2-day tournament is typically held on Saturday and Sunday. A 3-day tournament is held Friday - Sunday or Saturday - Monday. AAU nationals is held over a span of four days. On each tournament day, teams will play in an AM wave or a PM wave. 

All money paid to PAVC is non refundable/transferable within 24 hours of scheduled event. 2 Weeks notice is required for a full refund (minus 3.5% Convenience Fee) and 24 or more hours notice to receive transferable credit to future events.
